Heart Of Darkness bar, like Apocalypse Now in Saigon, can thank author Joseph Conrad for inspiration. And it shares Apo's inclination for sleaze - more so in fact. Though "Heart" as it's known, seems to make a little more effort in the decor department. Heart of Darkness has been Phnom Penh's essential late night stop for nearly two decades. If our recent visits are any indication, the sleaze factor might even be on the increase - and that's a big call. There's plenty of darkness and lots of stray hearts - but the less transactional late night fun seems to have migrated to nearby Pontoon. Open till very late.
