Secret Villa Boutique Hotel (formerly Villa Salt) has eleven generous and tasteful rooms a few blocks off the river but within easy reach of Phnom Penh's main places of interest on foot or by tuk-tuk.

Location

Secret Villa is located a few blocks from the river on a relatively quiet street. It's within easy reach of the Royal Palace and the main sights of the city, as well as restaurants and bars. Tuk-tuks are easy to come by and you can get to most places on foot if the heat doesn’t wipe you out. Though the name might imply it’s next door to the Royal Palace, that isn’t quite correct. Check the map.

Review

Secret Villa is a charming little hotel of 11 rooms. A mediocre 1990s building has been given a makeover and has come out of it well - though some less desirable features must have been too hard to remove.

Common areas are green but look like they could do with a little attention and a dust.

Rooms are the big draw. They’re generous in size, offer plenty of natural light and are tastefully decorated.

The Deluxe rooms are the best to start from and at 35sqm, are more than adequate for singles and couples.

The suites and apartments are large enough to comfortably accommodate a small family or two couples and range from 70sqm to 120sqm.

There’s a small pool and a pleasant garden.

Staff were friendly though they also seemed to be just getting their confidence.
