Creating South Vietnam - a travel guide to America in Vietnam Part 2

In Part II of our series, a travel guide to America in Vietnam, we take a look at the creation of South Vietnam out of the defeat of the colonial French in 1954. Some crucial decisions shaping two more decades of bloodshed, were made at the beginning of the mid 1950s by people mostly forgotten. Vietnam's former imperial capital Hue played a little recognised central role in the founding of southern Vietnam's ill-fated republic.
