If you're in Saigon and in need of a fix of quality chocolate, head down to Maison Marou - a cafe showcasing the fine Vietnamese chocolate created by Vincent Mourou and Samuel Maruta. Marou chocolate comes in many forms and flavours but this place is pure chocolate. Coffee and champagne are also grudgingly sanctioned. For those interested in the production side, there’s an operational 1930s cocoa roaster from France. The Marou brand is something of a local sensation and it’s received plenty of international recognition. If you love your chocolate, be sure to stop by for a taste of a local legend.
