As of 2018, Sophie's Art Tour operates irregularly and by appointment only. If you are interested in other cultural and heritage touring in Saigon, check out our sister company, Old Compass Travel.

Sophie's Art Tour is a morning spent adding some valuable context that will help you make better sense of Vietnam's history, while also providing an interesting survey of the country's art history from French colonial times.

The tour includes a look at the French influenced early twentieth century Vietnamese artists, Vietnamese socialist realism, combat portraiture, pre 1975 Saigonese art and the art of the past decades of economic liberalisation.

Sophie's a great presenter and loves her subject matter. She's also taken the time to meet with artists and collectors around the country and shares some wonderful anecdotes.

The groups are small and personalised allowing for plenty of questions and chat and include visits to local galleries as well as Ho Chi Minh City's Fine Arts Museum. Highly recommended.
