Ben Tre's main museum is a standout building. The collection is less interesting - fitting a formula that you'll probably have already worked out elsewhere in Vietnam.

Another landmark colonial era building is given over to a museum that seems perennially empty. Like its counterparts throughout the country, the collection is an assortment of revolutionary artefacts and some US military junk. Museum junkies and incurable historians will enjoy a wander through. The building is one of Ben Tre's most spectacular and its riverfront location makes it an easy place to spend half an hour.
