If you haven't already taken a boat out on the Mekong River, Ben Tre's a good place to do so. Boat trips can be arranged through your hotel, Ben Tre Tourist or by simply hanging around the waterfront. Being out on the vast watery mass of one of the Mekong's main channels is interesting for a bit, but the highlight of river exploration is always the canal life. In Ben Tre, much of that's about collecting and distributing coconuts.
