The Victoria Can Tho has been the nicest accommodation in the Mekong Delta for near on a decade and remains a good choice.

Location

Slightly out of town in a serene setting on the Hau River. Can Tho is easily accessed and there's plenty to be said for being away from the hustle.

Review

Perhaps the most confounding thing about the Victoria Can Tho is how few imitators it's spawned since its opening almost 10 years ago. While Can Tho is awash with uninspired characterless hotels, the Victoria is a breath of fresh air.

Design, ambience, people

The Victoria Can Tho Resort is an open, airy, low rise complex in colonial style set in lush gardens. It's located right on the Hau  River and captures better than any other property, the picture that most travellers probably conjure of a classic Mekong Delta accommodation.

The resort's 92 rooms feature timber floors, simple decor, and a balcony. Higher rooms categories look across the river. There are 8 suites.

Spend at least two nights here so that you have a chance to explore Can Tho and enjoy some relaxation at the resort. The pool area looks across the river and is a great place to unwind.
