Can Tho's riverfront is the town's best feature and it's well worth spending a couple of hours exploring on foot.

Starting at Ninh Kieu park, from where Uncle Ho watches over all  of the waterfront activity, head towards the recently refurbished market. There are some nice clusters of shophouses on the strip but they're losing ground to gaudy new structures.

Push on past the main market to some colourful street market activity.

There's also plenty happening on the waters of the Can Tho River. It's worth jumping aboard a small local boat for a ride to the mouth of the vast Hau River - a short distance away. It's an especially enjoyable way to wrap up the day. You'll get plenty of offers if you hang around the dock area between Ninh Kieu Park and the market.
