Long Thanh is one of Vietnam’s most well known black and white photographers. His small gallery not far from Nha Trang's Dam Market is well worth a visit.

Long Thanh has been taking black and white photos of his country since he was a teenager in the 1960s. If you’re lucky, he may pull out the original 1963 receipt for a Rolleiflex purchased for him in Saigon by an uncle. Since then he’s been capturing Vietnam’s human story in beautiful, sensitive, images. They’re available for sale at the gallery and Long Thanh is also on hand for a chat most days.
