In this Insights video, we travel through some of Vietnam's most magical country between Sapa and Dien Bien Phu. It's a region of beautiful mountains, diverse ethnic minorities and the site of the historic Dien Bien Phu siege that ushered the end of French colonial rule in Indochina. In the past few years, the northwest has also started to be impacted by the rapid change that is transforming all of Vietnam. There are plenty of reasons for travelling there sooner rather than later.

This is the second of two videos covering the journey from Hanoi to Dien Bien Phu overland.

On this journey, I travelled with Hanoi based Topas Travel. My thanks to my guide Mr Tan for his special assistance.
