General Giap's bunker at Muong Phang outside Dien Bien Phu

In this video, we visit Muong Phang, 30 kms from Dien Bien Phu, the remote valley near the Lao border where Ho Chi Minh's Viet Minh, under the leadership of General Vo Nguyen Giap, humbled French colonial forces in 1954. It was the beginning of the end for France's colonial project in Indochina. We visit the bunkers from which General Giap and his strategists led the victorious campaign in beautiful mountain country dotted with ethnic minority villages.
