Price guide: Around 200,000VND per person
Son Ha Garden Restaurant, now more often known as SH Garden, relocated from the suburbs to the heart of Saigon, directly opposite the Rex Hotel back in 2012. The new venue, on top of a classic old apartment building with sweeping views across town, is a big shift from the rustic former digs - and there's been an accompanying upward shift in pricing too. And the upward price shift seems to continue with every visit. This place may well be getting a bit too expensive for what it is. The northern Vietnamese style cuisine is as tasty as ever and the large, relaxed, airy space is still popular with locals and travellers though some seem to have been scared off by the relentless price increases. The remodeled old lift that carries diners to the third floor is a nice touch too.

Rusty Compass listings are always independent. We list the places we think are worth knowing about. Our Featured Listings allow a small selection of businesses already recommended by us, to pay a fee for a place at the top of our list. That’s it. Featured Listings have no impact on reviews, or on the curation and independence of our lists.
