Nha Trang nightlife guide

Introduction

Nha Trang's nightlife scene has followed the city's lead into packaged tourism. A once thriving backpacker and independent traveller scene has shifted. Some of the venues are the same - but the style has changed.

The bulk of the city's nightllife is scattered around the tourist enclave bordered by Tran Phu, Tran Quang Khai, Biet Thu and  Nguyen Thien Thuat streets, and along the beach strip.

Take a wander and see what you can find. There are loads of small places to grab a drink. Then there are a handful of bigger places. We didn't manage to uncover much by way of character during our most recent visit.

It might be better to focus on rising early and using your days. Like most of the city, Nha Trang's party scene is now a mass-tourism fest.

It’s worth noting that Nha Trang’s wobbling late night frolickers are rich targets for thieves that prey on them with seeming impunity around the tourist area after midnight.

The most common tactic is for a girl or ladyboy to approach a male traveller from the back of a motorbike, offering services. Before  the unsuspecting traveller even knows what’s happening, he’s been relieved of his wallet and / or phone. Women can also be victims. There have also been reports of spiked drinks and violence. Be careful.
