Review

Bambu is a lovely little place to relax between forays into Battambang town and the local countryside. The design is a mix of Khmer and colonial styles and the feel's airy and welcoming.

The owners, an Irishman and his Khmer wife, have put plenty of effort into making sure Bambu's a positive contributor to the local economy and environment using local labour and materials where possible and installing solar power.

The 16 rooms are across three room types set over two levels in three garden houses. The lead-in rooms (deluxe standard) are very adequate at 27sqm - not including a private garden area and terrace. The mid-tier rooms (deluxe superior) are similar but located upstairs.

Suite rooms are also located upstairs and are 32sqm.

There's a salt-water pool in the central courtyard by the restaurant.

Facilities brief
Salt-water pool, free wifi, breakfast, restaurant
