Review
Touich has made its name on good food and friendly service. The location is obscure. There are no walk-ins. The decor isn’t anything special either. But most nights, it’s busy with expats and tourists heading away from Siem Reap’s tourist heart and into the darkness to sample its fare.
I’ve been a few times now - and providing you’re not stuck in a wet-season downpour, as I was on my first visit, it isn’t too hard to find.
And once you arrive, you’ll receive a warm welcome from the staff or the owner.
Everyone raves about the Salted Grilled Red Snapper - and I’m a big fan too. I try not to think about how far Siem Reap is from the sea.
There are plenty of other tasty goodies on the menu. Khmer soups, salads, vegetarian dishes and a selection called “Family cuisine” which includes Khmer staples like Fish Amok, Loc Lac Beef and other traditional dishes.
Touich’s popularity means that you don’t get a big discount for heading out of town. But it’s good value for money.
It’s worth booking too. Touich is popular and you don’t want to get out there and discover they’re full. Bring cash too - cards aren’t accepted.
