The Dien Bien Phu valley is vast and flat - perfect for cycling. It's also home to Thai minority communities that usually welcome visitors. Put Dien Bien Phu's history to one side and spend an afternoon exploring the surrounding countryside. It will be a highlight of your visit.

Travel tips
If cycling isn't your thing, arrange a car or motorbike with your hotel.
