Rising Dragon Hotel Bat Su is a good budget option on the outer fringe of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Take a room at the front for plenty of natural light.

Bat Su street is at the western edge of Hanoi’s Old Quarter which is slightly more local than the most touristy streets of the area.

Rising Dragon is a good-value hotel pick in Hanoi’s Old Quarter.

The street front rooms are simply and tastefully decorated, feature a small balcony and are double glazed to reduce street noise.

Lower standard rooms are less appealing - especially the lead-in rooms, which are windowless.

Staff at the hotel are very helpful and quality of the breakfast is excellent given room rates.
