Mekong boat trips including Cai Be and visits to canals and local orchards are a major attraction of a visit to Vinh Long.

Boat trips usually include a visit to Cai Be town with its small floating market, a candy factory as well as the orchards and canals of the area.  It's a great way to experience delta life.

Travellers can also arrive in Vinh Long from Cai Be by boat since Cai Be is closer to Saigon.

Organised tours from Saigon normally include boat trips.

If you're travelling independently, boat trips can also be arranged by most homestays and hotels. You're also likely to get approached by local boatmen and women as you wander or cycle around the canals.

Cuu Long Tourist is the local travel company that seems to have a monopoly on boat trips. Details are below.
