There are few reasons to stay in Vinh Long town. Most travellers come to Vinh Long to visit An Binh Island and stay in one of the so-called homestays.
These places are not really homestays - since they're not really homes. They're more like family run guesthouses. Facilities are basic and privacy is limited but they're friendly and they usually serve up good, simple local cuisine - perfectly adequate for a night.
The homestays / guesthouses on An Binh island are mosty set along the delta waterways amidst lush orchards. They're a very nice way to experience delta hospitality and cuisine with good walking and cycling nearby.
