Review
The 1960s Mercedes, said to have been part of Prince Sihanouk’s fleet (there are a few of these around town), the faux colonial style mansion and lush gardens set the scene on arrival at Heritage Suites.

A reproduced colonial style it may be but Heritage Suites is well designed, cosy with deluxe hotel amenities across 26 rooms and suites. The deluxe rooms are nicely done and very adequate. The bungalow suites are over two large rooms and while nice, are on the expensive side. Suites feature a private garden and oversized bath - it’s slightly off putting with pride of place in the centre of the room.
Heritage Suites Siem Reap is a member of the prestigious Relais and Chateaux Association of fine hotels and restaurants.

Location
Off the River Rd that runs parallel to the main road between the town and the temples. Good access to both by tuk tuk - around 10 minutes. Town is a little too far to walk. The very local setting is part of its charm but it also feels a tad remote from the action.
Design ambience and people
The colonial touches are nice and they haven’t been applied slavishly - also good. The reception and restaurant “colonial house” building is superbly done with lounges, lots of natural light and art . It sets the tone of warmth and intimacy for the entire complex.

Deluxe rooms are in two parallel buildings that lead to the pool area. Bunglaow Suites are beyond the pool. There’s plenty of greenery and communal space and although it’s a reasonably tight piece of real estate, it hasn’t been overbuilt.
Staff are relaxed and very helpful.
