River Bay Villa is a cosy little 14 room hotel right by the river between Siem Reap town and the Angkor temples.

Location

The riverside between Siem Reap town and the Angkor temples is a great location to stay. Temple access is easy and the town isn’t far away either. The riverside has a touch of serenity and there are more restaurants opening in this area as well.

Review

A traditional Cambodian wooden house greets you on arrival at River Bay Villa - which is home to two good restaurants, Lava and Sushi Plus. They’re both popular with hotel guests and outsiders.

The 14 hotel rooms are located in a new building at the back that lacks some of the atmosphere of the old wooden house.

But you’ll likely forget that pretty quickly. The staff here are exceptional. You’ll be quickly made to feel at home.

There are Superior (24sqm) and Deluxe rooms and(32sqm), including some twins. Decor is simple and innocuous.

The hotel lacks some of the design savvy of the front building - which is a shame. But this is still a very nice place to be.

The pool courtyard is shaded most of the day and is an excellent  place to chill after a day of temple exploration.
