    • This shot was taken back in 1997 when this long term Hoi An local had a small motorcycle and bicycle repair shop on Nguyen Thai Hoc St.

    • Twelve years later, he's rented his place to sell tourist art and post cards. He still takes his position out front each day. He's unsure about all the change though he's pleased that his well positioned piece of real estate has freed him from a daily grind. There's always something reassuring about meeting up with some of these old fixtures in Hoi An and elsewhere in Vietnam.

    • Ly's restaurant is a Hoi An institution. Ly opened her restaurant serving local specialties in the early nineties and we've been regulars ever since.

    • These two former South Vietnamese airforce pilots have lived in the US since the end of the Vietnam War in 1975. They made lives from nothing in the US becoming successful engineers. Now they're regular visitors to their motherland.

    • Churning out those much loved clothes for tourists. Hoi An's tailors have done very well providing inexpensive reasonable quality clothes and fast turnaround to travellers. Shop around and check your purchases carefully.

    • A great little street stall with mother and daughter near Ba Le well. Ba Le well is famed for its reputed contribution to the Hoi An speciality dish Cao Lau.
