Ninh Binh eating guide

Restaurant options in Ninh Binh town are few and far between and nothing strikes us as worth listing.

But you can still enjoy plenty of good northern Vietnamese country cuisine here. Check with your hotel for the current offerings. Eat early and eat simply. Things start winding down from about 8pm.

When you’re out and about by day, you’ll notice lots of local spots serving Ninh Binh’s signature dish “De Nui” - mountain goat. Drop by one of these spots and give it a try for lunch.

You’re likely to also do some eating in your hotel, especially if you’re staying in remote places like Chez Loan, The Long or Emeralda Resort.

We recommend sticking to simple local staples in places like Ninh Binh - soup (canh) vegetables (rau muong xao toi is dependable everywhere) and a meat dish if you’re inclined - with rice of course.
