This little hole in the wall in the heart of  Hanoi's Old Quarter gets high marks for coffee, ambience and people watching. We came back several times - during our most recent Hanoi visit - whenever we were nearby Hoan Kiem Lake. The cigarette smoke can be a drag but the place is open so there's a fair bit of air-flow. Grab a stool on the street if you can. Cho means market in Vietnamese and the street is a little food market packed with local life that dates back decades - perhaps centuries - despite its location in the city’s tourism heart.
