La Carambole plays to the colonial nostalgia theme with its French oriented menu and it seems to paper over some mediocre culinary offerings. Still, it pulls in very good crowds of European travellers each night and they look to be enjoying themselves immensely. There are some Vietnamese and Italian dishes on offer as well to ensure all angles are covered. If the bistro idea is a must, try it, but don’t expect too much.
