Hue's traditional cuisine from set menus in a stunning garden setting. This is a beautiful place but the service and food are less impressive.

Y Thao Garden gets panned one day and glowing reports the next.  It serves a range set menu banquets featuring Hue's traditional cuisine.

The garden setting is lovely. And there's a villa packed with antiques. The space creates expectations that the food and service don't quite live up to.

The location in the citadel complex's outer walls makes it a popular stop with tour groups. That may be part of the problem. If the tour groups are in town, you may feel a tad neglected.

Options for a Hue meal in an atmospheric restaurant space are still surprisingly limited - so you may still end up here.

Rusty Compass recommendations are always independent. We list the places we think you should know about. That's it. We've paid our way on all visits to Y Thao Garden and no money changed hands for this listing.
